Description
SaltAire Villa has an open concept with high ceilings, a beautiful, fully equipped modern kitchen, dining and living areas. There are 2 queen bedrooms, each with its own en suite half bath, one full bathroom with tub/shower, an enclosed outside shower, and a washer and dryer in a separate laundry room. Excellent AC is throughout the home.
We are on the west side of the island, separated from the water by only a lazy one lane road. The water view is spectacular, and sunsets over the water are lovely. There are steps down to the water with easy ocean access. You are within a short drive of many world-class beaches. Coffee or a cocktail at the water's edge is just feet away.
You'll often see the fishermen in their boats leave to begin their day on the high seas. Stroll to the dock in the afternoon to get your selection of the freshest lobster, conch, grouper, snapper or triggerfish!
Uniquely situated, we nearly always have a breeze.
Tarpum Bay is unusual in that it is possible to walk to a few bars, restaurants, groceries, the fish dock, churches, and the beach, right from your vacation rental. It's possible to stay here without renting a car, but truthfully, you would be missing out on many of the island's attractions and beaches. We recommend renting a car, but it's not strictly necessary.
The entire property consists of two buildings. This villa is the primary rental property. We have another listing #115 that is our guest cottage (https://www.eleutheradirect.com/listing.115) . If your party requires 4 bedrooms, we will discount 10% if you rent both. (Please, the guest cottage is not intended for unsupervised children or teens.)
Small children and people with mobility challenges might find it hard to enter and exit the water in front of the house.

About The Owner
We fell in love with Eleuthera in 2008 when we visited with our kids while on spring break. Escaping Rochester NY winter weather, we returned time and time again. We took the leap and purchased our home in 2016 and spent some years renovating. Both the main home and guest cottage are now complete, and very comfortable. We love our island home and hope you will too.

Additional Location Information
Our property is in the settlement of Tarpum Bay, where Bay Street and Lord Street meet, at the sea. We are on the opposite end of Bay Street from the Primary School.
We are about 0.5 miles from a pickleball court!
We provide a copy of The Beach Book by Bret Sigillo, marked with our favorite 5 or 6 beaches. Our home is RIGHT on the water, a rock entrance to the water. We enjoy both heading out to a fabulous beach for the day (returning home in time for a cocktail and the sunset), and chilling at home when the water is flat and the convenience of home is comfortable.

Winter Escape
I was fortunate to stay the winter (86 days) in SaltAire Villa in Tarpum Bay. The cottage has been completely renovated and is within a stones throw of the ocean. The views are magical and ever changing, the waters are clear and beg for kayaking or snorkeling. There are steps within a few feet from the house that lead down to the water, just across a narrow road. Stephanie and Drew have thought of every detail to make the cottage a wonderful place to stay. Two bedrooms have adjoining ensuite half baths with ample closet areas. The beds are comfortable and the sheets are soft. Each room has its’ own ac unit. The main living area is spacious with a roomy dining table, ample, comfortable lr seating and extra seating at the island bar. The cottage has Starlink for your WiFi device needs. One of the most unexpected features of the house was the upscale kitchen. It comes fully equipped for all your needs, including a lobster pot, stand mixer, blender, coffee maker, gas stove, microwave, and all the accessories and more that you could ever want. The cottage was absolutely spotless and a cleaning service was available if needed. The caretakers, Portia and Fred, are phenomenal. Portia met me at the cottage to explain how everything worked and answer any questions that I might have. Fred and Portia were the epitome of professionalism and graciousness. They were always extremely responsive and made my stay even more perfect. For those who need more room than two bedrooms, Stephanie and Drew have another smaller cottage on the property making this ideal for larger groups. While there were some who rented the smaller cottage while I was there, the placement of the two cottages allows for quite a modicum of privacy. The cottage is within walking distance of the main village of Tarpum Bay including a local bar, Bert’s for the Best for groceries and a few takeout restaurants. I highly recommend SaltAire and the wonderful Tarpum Bay. I honestly can’t say enough good things about Stephanie and Drew, Portia and Fred, SaltAire Villa and Tarpum Bay.

Escape to Paradise
The home and decor are beautiful. The scenery and crystal clear water take your breath away. Bring your own snorkel gear, as I enjoyed seeing everything under the surface just outside the property-the rock walls, formations in the sand and the many fish species that came up to acknowledge their presence. The comfortable bed I slept in with 100% cotton sheets is worth a mention. Their home had all of the amenities and grocery stores are a walk away. A truly spectacular experience!

Peace in Paradise!
We were looking forward to a peaceful vacation and got so much more! SaltAire Villa is located on the western point of Tarpum Bay, so you get the most gorgeous sunsets. And then there is the waterfront view! The villa is absolutely charming, huge kitchen, comfortable bedrooms and living room, and has every amenity you could need! The patio was where we had our morning coffee and evening happy hours ;) every day.
Town Center is just a few blocks away to get your groceries, tour the cute town, and meet the friendly people. Restaurants are open during busy season (closer to Thanksgiving) so call first, but Neek's restaurant was the local hangout with the best conch fritters made by "Chef" herself, and the bartender made specialty drinks to welcome us! Renting a car is the best way to tour everything Eleuthera has to offer, but was a bit challenging to get a confirmed reservation without some communication intervention from Stephanie, the homeowner. Both Drew & Stephanie were the best at answering all questions getting us there (lol), and introducing us to the property managers who made sure we had everything we needed.
Pink Sand Beach (just 10 minutes from the villa), Mel's Snack Shack in James Cistern was a treat to get some snacks and eat and swim right at the beach (also best beach for collecting sea glass), heading up north to Gregory Town's Island Made Gift Shop were some of our highlights. Many places we visited were closed for the season, but the drive was still beautiful! Bring your own floaties and snorkel gear! With clear calm waters on the west and the Atlantic on the east side of the island with gorgeous waves, you won't be disappointed!
