The SOLAR Bungalow is located just north of Governors Harbour on a hillside with a view and access to the Caribbean Sea. Take it easy at the Bungalow's laid back style filled with Bahamian artwork. Water access is a quick walk down to the cove below where there is a swimming ladder to ease in and out of the water. You will find al sorts of tropical fish and coral. The Bungalow has a fantastic location being centrally located to explore all the different beaches and Settlements. One of the best features of the Bungalow is that we are completely "off Grid" so you never need to worry about losing power! You will always be able to take a shower, make dinner and relax and watch the stunning sunsets as you may be visiting an Out island in the Bahamas but nothing should be "out" at the Bungalow, The property has a vegetable garden and native fruit trees of papaya, sugar apples, breadfruit tree and bananas. the Bungalow is a 1 bedroom with additional sleeping available in the living room with a pull out trundle bed. There are ceiling fans and AC in both the living Room and bedroom. There is also a private patio overlooking the Caribbean Sea and garden. There is access to the owners vegetable garden which includes bananas, breadfruit, Papaya and sugar apple tres. The owners have 2 kayaks on the property. The owner also often has his sailboat moored nearby in Alabaster Bay.

Shannon and Bruce are full time residents in Eleuthera and are always available with suggestions to make your visit special. They live on the property with their 5 adopted island cats. If Shannon and Bruce are not at home you will most likely find Bruce over in Alabaster Bay sailing on their 21ft Cat Ketch sailboat. If you catch him ask him for a ride! Shannon is usually planting something in their vegetable Garden or out looking for sea glass.

This is the best air BnB we have stayed in. The bungalow and the view is amazing. Shannon and Bruce are the perfect hosts the attention to detail is just the best.
Shannon made us home made cookies etc etc. and also many things from their lovely garden. Bruce also took us out on his sail boat which was brilliant .
The bungalow is solar so always power and hot water etc.
the attention to detail is second to none. If you are thinking of coming to the Bahamas and this beautiful island this is the only place to stay.
Very near governers harbour which is central to explore the island. Many many thanks to you both for making our stay so special.
We will be back !!

Would rate my stay an 11/10 if I could! Shannon and Bruce were amazing hosts. Shannon went above and beyond to make sure our stay was a perfect experience. Excellent communication, great recommendations, and such a kind and fun personality! The house has breathtaking views, easy access to Governors Harbor, and everything you could possibly need for a day trip to any of the amazing beaches or adventures Eleuthera has to offer. But most importantly…SOLAR. Didn’t realize how much we would need this - the power on the island was out during a large portion of our trip, so having solar power and Starlink allowed us to Netflix and chill after our days adventures, whereas, we would be SOL if we were staying elsewhere. We will definitely be returning and staying here again, can’t recommend this place enough!

We stayed at Solar & Sea from May 7th - May 21st and it was perfect for us. Centrally located in a quiet, safe neighborhood so great for traveling to either end of the island. Access to the bungalow was easy on well paved roads. The decor is what you want to see on an out island in the Bahamas. Beautiful island vibe artwork and furnishings make it a place you are happy to come home to or just chill and look at the water views. It's clean & comfortable and a great size with everything you need to make meals or bring take away back to. The pics while wonderful don't really do it the justice it deserves, it's way better in person! The gardener in me loved the fruit trees & garden space as well as the lovely landscaping of colorful tropical plantings. (Tasty fruit and veggies too when in season)
Had and awesome storm, thunder, lightning show and some rain. Guess what? The whole island lost power at some point. We DIDN'T lose anything, the SOLAR & STARLINK saved the day!
Very close to Cocodimama/Alabaster beach with easy access and a beautiful beach to relax, swim or snorkeling is a favorite. Stay as long as you want, bring a lunch and some beverages and make a day of it.
Our hosts Shannon & Bruce were excellent, on site and invaluable for information or help if you needed it. (The cats were "purrfect" hosts also, see what I did there, lol.)
All in all, we couldn't have been happier with our choice in picking Solar & Sea for our 2 weeks stay. You won't want to leave, we didn't!
Thank you, Shannon & Bruce, for having an awesome rental, we will be back!!!
Deb & Mark xoxo
