The Palm Tree Cottage is the perfect place for relaxation! We are tucked away in the secluded Whale Point neighbourhood in North Eleuthera which is just a few yards north of the world-famous Glass Window Bridge. By boat we are also 5 minutes south of the prestigious Harbour Island. The cottage is the ultimate getaway for couples, families, or travelers just looking to unwind and enjoy nature. The property is situated on a cove which serves as a nursery for marine life and is teeming with wildlife. From the dock you can observe the many sea turtles, fish, sting rays, and maybe even one of the juvenile sharks! You won’t fully enjoy the surrounding location until you’ve explored the cove via kayak and experience the the wild life swimming beneath you.
The cove is always quiet, calm, and shallow - a stark difference from the Atlantic Ocean, just a few yards across the street. Imagine being able to wake up and have a cup of coffee overlooking the serene shallow waters of the cove, going for a swim, and then walking right across the street and deep sea fishing off the rocks. There is a beach within short walking distance of our private dock or you can make the quick commute to Harbour Island and experience the world-famous Pink Sand Beach.
Harbour Island also has a wide variety of things to do. If you are looking for fine dining, nightlife, or a spa day, Harbour Island has something to offer. Harbour Island also offers SCUBA trips, excursions, and deep sea fishing trips. The ease of accessibility to Harbour Island is definitely an advantage of staying with us. We have so much to offer and look forward to hosting you!
Car rental is mandatory as there is no public transportation or Uber on the island. If interested in boat rental, I can assist in setting that up for guests.

My name is Dewitt Chan Pratt and I am the second oldest and only son of my father's three children. In August 2013, I hosted the "Chan Pratt: Art of Passion" exhibition at The Central Bank of The Bahamas. The support I received from the Bahamian public encouraged me even more. It strengthened my resolve to remind the world of who my father Chan Pratt was. I am of the belief that The Bahamas holds so much unrecognized talent - talent that isn't realized because many people lack inspiration. Lack of inspiration results in mediocrity and low self-esteem, two traits that plague our little nation and its young people in particular. With these ideals came about the idea of The Chan Pratt Foundation, of which I am the founder. http://www.chanprattfoundation.org/

The Palm Tree Cottage is one of the most special places my family has visited. Going in we knew we wanted something quiet and low-key. We had spent the last few years visiting Harbour Island which we love but has gotten very expensive and crowded. (However, we liked being just a short water taxi away from all that Harbour Island has to offer.) Dewitt's house is small but well laid out and nicely decorated. We had more than enough room for our family of four. The water pressure in the shower is great. The kitchen is stocked well enough to cook meals. The beds are comfortable and the A/C works great in the bedrooms. Great WiFi. Tons of towels. The vibe of the place is definitely "beach house" meaning that if you are looking for super luxury this is not the place for you. But, if you want a quiet cove filled with turtles, amazing sunsets, more stars than you have ever seen and views to die for you will love this place. The kayaks were great. I would recommend bringing aqua socks so you can walk along the shore to the nearby sandy beach on the bay. As other people have mentioned the road to the house is rough. My husband drove and thought it was manageable but I don't know that I would have been able to drive it myself. (Rent Dewitt's car or another four-wheel drive!) Things to note: No washer or dryer or dishwasher. We had great fun exploring Eleuthera and hope to return!

Host is very quick to reply to questions. It’s a very out of the way cottage; great for watching sea turtles and relaxing

This sweet house right on the water is just perfect. The view in the picture is what it really is every morning as you wake up just amazed to be there! The huge dock is an incredible addition to the house - make coffee, come outside and swim for hours, green turtles abound, gorgeous sunsets right over the water, kayaks!!!!, snorkle gear, a million towels, a grill; a great porch and big kitchen, comfy beds and the location literally could not be better. GET THE CAR - you really can't do without it unless you are never leaving the house (which would still be a beautiful vacation) but if you want to explore the many stunning parts of Eleuthera - coves, caves, Queen's Bath!!, great restaurants, bakeries and beautiful beaches on both sides of the island then you will need the car and it's so worth it! . The road to the house is rough enough that taxis dont want to do it but in the SUV no problem and kind of fun. (There is a gorgeous cove right at the top of the road -stop and see!) We had an unforgettable time and will certainly be back. Dewitt and his crew were so helpful and kind and quick and responsive - it was a total pleasure. We highly recommend this special place.

Beautiful place with everything you need. The care takers of the property are always available to answer questions and are extremely friendly. The swimming and snorkeling was amazing right off the deck. Drinking coffee on the porch every morning was so peaceful and relaxing and the sunsets were beautiful. Dewitt would answer all of our questions so quickly. There was also a bunch of maps of local beaches, information about boat charters and area restaurants. If you plain on renting a boat this is perfect as it has its own private dock. One of my top 5 Air Bnb experiences! We will definitely be back! It was a little bumpy road to get into the area of the cottage, but I learned quickly in Eleuthera that all bumpy roads lead to paradise. Definitely rent the all terrain vehicle with the property. We were able to get to many beautiful beaches that most aren’t able to see because of inability to access. And the house has the Eleuthera edition of the Beach Book which tells you the locations of the 135 beaches in Eleuthera. My family had an amazing time!

Everything was exactly as was described. Pictures don't do the area Justice. Great house on a very beautiful location. We saw so much sea life! The dock service to harbour island is a must.
