Cove House, located on the picturesque Pittman's Cove of Gregory Town is a completely renovated 70 year old colonial Bahamian home with great stone pillars sparkling white against the back drop of Sea and Sun. It's location on the leeward "sea side" of the Island makes for less wind and warmer living.
There are 2 vacation properties within Cove House. The listing you are viewing right now is the second story property known as The Captain's Quarters. The property on the ground floor (also 3 bedroom) is our Compass Cottage and that one is listed in Eleuthera Direct as listing #57 . Please have a look there as well.
The Captain's Quarters is complimented by a private ocean front balcony complete with comfortable outdoor furniture, rockers, and a couch. The balcony overlooks Gregory Town's famous Cove and is literally the best view in Gregory Town!
The Captain's Quarters at Cove House features a unique Island decor for clean and comfortable Island living. The Ocean front master bedroom features a queen size bed and both the second and third bedrooms each have two twin beds. The kitchen is a "foody's" kitchen and over-complete for vacation purposes but you will be able to find anything needed to prepare delicious meals.
Traveling with a large family group? Combine both properties at Cove House for an awesome family vacation. Can sleep up to 14 people with 2.5 kitchens, and 3 baths. (please send an inquiry for further description of the two accommodation choices)
The Capt. Quarters is located close to everything the Island offers. Long lovely secluded beaches for shelling or just relaxing, unique Island made shopping, grocery stores, surfing beaches, and you can take advantage of the native's harvest from the sea by purchasing their catch right on the wharf. Lobster dinner anyone?

Thanks a lot.
25 hour flight to get here and worth it! Eleuthera bears it’s name well given the feeling we had here…… Thanks for your kindness during our stay, the Wahoo was delicious, the surf fantastic, and everyone so friendly and relaxed.

Eleuthera, a paradise on Earth!
Sickest trip ever! Loved the caves and the blue water and the waves. Hope to be back soon.
Fun people, good waves, great weather, how could it get any better. My trip to Eleuthera was one of the greatest trips ever.
We had a great time in Eleuthera! Your cottage is amazing and everyone in Town is so friendly! The surf was fun, the caves were creepy, and the Pirates Revenge really does make everything taste better! We hope to make it back one day.

What a place and what people! Had such a good time here in Eleuthera and hope to come back for sure. Harry is the perfect host and knows the Island really well.
I’ve heard hundreds of stories about all the characters down here, how amazing the water is, the conch fritters, etc. and it turned out better! The Wilson’s made our trip wonderful. There were so many firsts for me. Hope this isn’t the last time…… don’t want to leave. Loved every minute!
I have to say this place is amazing…… the stress free way of life is awesome.

Loved it. Right in town - able to shop and go to restaurants. Everything I needed was in rental; could cook own meals.
Owners so friendly and helpful. People in town friendly. Right on beautiful bay.

The owner, Harry, and his wife, Donna, were very friendly, helpful, and informative. The house was very clean and roomy, the kitchen had everything needed for cooking, and had a great water dispenser. Great location for getting a true feel of Gregory Town. It was fun seeing the locals go out in their boats in the morning, and come back in loaded with fish. We even got to try fresh stone crab claws courtesy of the owner, Harry. Great location for sightseeing all the sites in northern Eleuthera. Only wish the apartment had central air conditioning.

Loved staying at the Cove house.! Harry and Rhonda warm and welcoming. Loved sitting on the porch watching the lovely people of Gregorytown coming and going listening to the sea and watching the sunsets overlooking the water. Swam in the bay in the mornings-bring beach shoes as there are conch shells. Loved eating at the local places.. Cove House is right in town and a minutes or two walk to everything. All people so friendly. Is very safe. Got to see the tree lighting celebration!

My family of four (my husband, two teen aged children, and me) stayed for a week in early April and had an absolutely wonderful vacation. I love the location of this rental because it's directly on a safe cove that is perfect for swimming, snorkeling and kayaking.
The bay-side location provides a lot of entertainment as you sit and watch from the balcony - fisherman, people from town coming for a swim, occasionally giant fish swimming by, etc. The rental house also sits near some great places to eat (we loved Unca Gene's!), get groceries, bakery goods, beer/liquor, and nearly everything else you need.
The kitchen was very usable and provided everything you need to make food during your stay. Local cookbooks available in the kitchen helped me figure out how to fix the fresh grouper we bought from fisherman on the dock across from the house. The hosts were AWESOME. They were available to give advice and answer questions but left us alone to explore and relax.
A stay at this amazing place is not for everyone. If you are super picky about how updated a rental is, this is not for you. If you have trouble with the unexpected or can't roll with flow, this is not for you. However, if you can successfully turn on "island time" and love the amazing experience of staying in a local town with real people (NOT a resort!), always looking out on a beautiful turquoise cove, then this is perfect.
