Western View Cottage

We rented the Western View Cottage and loved it! There was plenty of room for 2 families (4 adults, 4 teenagers). The kitchen was great with enough seating for everyone. The bedrooms were comfortable and the 2 bathrooms worked well for all of us. We enjoyed breakfast and coffee in the backyard every morning. The washer and dryer on site were a huge help with keeping up with towels, swimsuits, etc. April was easy to get in touch with and very quick to respond to any questions or requests we had. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful and the house was only a 2 minute walk to the beach. We would recommend Western View Cottage to anyone looking for a place to stay in Spanish Wells!

Great place for a family

Enjoyed our stay here! It’s a short walk to the beach and the owners have some kayaks and a float board available close to the beach.

Nice clean place to stay for a family. Kudos to the owners for having a hot water heater that could keep up with the demands of the family!

WiFi worked flawlessly.

Enjoyed our contact with April. Helpful and responsive.

Great place for the money.

Spanish wells visit

Long walks on the beach. All the amenities you need and then some. The paddle board is missing the fin that allows it to function properly.

Great relaxing stay

Our family of 5 stayed at Tyson and April’s house in November 2019. After landing at North Eleuthera, getting there was very fast and smooth. Short ride in a van, that fit all our luggage, then another 5 minute ride in a boat after which Tyson picked us up and brought us to our new home for the next week. The house was bigger than we thought - two families like ours could sleep their easily. The kitchen and bathrooms are specious, equipped with everything you need from pots to beach towels and even sunscreen. There is information about places to eat and working hours of the only supermarket. And Our hosts were absolutely phenomenal at responding all our questions and organizing our transfer back to the airport even before we asked.

We spent a lot of time at the beach near the sunset view point (3 minute walk or 1 minute from the house) but sometimes it had a lot of seaweed. Tyson recommenced a “secret” beach on the other island connected by a tiny bridge, where kids built their sea shells collection and had a lot of fun jumping in the waves. And we spent the last day at the beach behind the church. It had no seaweed at all.

Needless to say, having free golf cart and kayaks was a huge plus. Overall we loved the serenity and the beauty of the island.

Beautiful home! Sleeps 12. HUGE kitchen. Golf Cart too.

April & Tyson did a fabulous job taking care of us. After flying into North Eleuthera Airport & a quick Customs process, David’s Taxi was waiting for us. He loaded our luggage into his van and took us the dock (7-8 miles) where Cason was waiting. He took us by water taxi to Spanish Wells (about 1 mile). Upon arrival at the harbor, April’s daughter Breanna loaded our luggage into her car. Our friends rented an extra golf cart because there was 5 of us. Once arriving at the Western View home, there was a golf cart for 4. The home has large rooms. There are 7 beds. Plenty of room for everyone. 2 full baths. The kitchen has a large high table for 8 and a bar counter for 3 or 4. It has a microwave, flat top stove, double oven with plenty of dish ware to cook & prepare meals. They also have Tyman Fishing Charters & Adventures Boat. They will take you out around the islands which offers several options. Captain Rubin took us on a half day charter to several places around the islands. Swimming with the Pigs was cool. Snorkeling along the cliffs of Eleuthera & checking out the sea turtles. They also offer reef fishing, deep sea fishing, diving for lobster & other options to choose from. We were able to drive around all week in a golf cart, shopped at the local grocery store which is huge for an island that is 3 miles long and dined at several of the restaurants. Lots of fresh seafood. We even had a local bakery make a cake in advance to surprise one our friend’s birthday. The beaches are so pristine. Pink powdery sand & turquoise water. The amazing thing was it seemed like we had our own private beach because we didn’t see more than 5 people at a time. There’s a bridge that connects to Russell Island. It is THE spot to make beautiful pics, videos and fly a drone from. We had a GREAT time and this was our 2nd trip. There’s not another place like Spanish Wells. The people are so nice. The island is one of the last places in the Caribbean that is nearly crime free. Wish we could retire here. The people of Spanish Wells make the difference. April & Tyson Newbold, and their family are a big part of those people. Y’all made our stay stress free, memorable and enjoyable. Thank you for your hospitality. Now back to reality after unplugging and recharging.
