Caribbean Paradice
This was our first trip to the Bahamas and we could not have picked a better place to stay in Eleuthera. The house was everything they said it would be and more. All the bedrooms were large enough so we did not feel cramped. The kitchen was well stocked with anything we needed for cooking, cleaning and drinking. Livingroom/kitchen was open and very comfortable. The balcony was wonderful and we spent EVERY morning sitting on it watching the sunrise over the hill top (on the left) drinking our coffee. We grilled a couple of meals outside on the balcony and sat at the table enjoying the breeze as it blew across. At night, we sat on the balcony and could see the small township of Governor's Harbour. We saw a couple of ships bringing in supplies. The water was beautiful and we enjoyed snorkeling right out in front of the house. The steps going into the water was good but could be a bit slippery!! Make sure to were some kind of beach shoes. There were hand rails to help secure the entry into the water. The island right across from the house was a great place to kayak and snorkel around. The town was very laid back and the people were friendly. Shopping was limited but nice. The food was expensive but good. Tippi's was the best place as far as gong out to eat. (We ate there twice.) We would absolutely recommend this place for anyone looking for peace, seclusion and a laid back atmosphere. The owners were very helpful with any questions we had. The airport is just about a five minute drive to the house and Governor's Harbor was about another five minutes. Beaches were BEAUTIFUL and PINK!! The entire week we were there we saw maybe 8 people on a beach. Very private. The best beach we found, we called "Cpt Jacks" because we could not find out what the actual name was. Look for the sign on the same road as Tippi's. Make sure to request an off-road type vehicle. (Truck, jeep or van, etc) Most roads going to the beaches are bad and not suited for low riding cars:(
Overall trip................GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PS.......bring your pillows;)
