Absolutely love this house and location
We *loved* this vacation rental and can't say enough about Muriel's hospitality. The house had everything we needed and more for our beach holiday with two young kids. The house itself is just beautiful - spotlessly clean, bright, cheery, modern, with high shiplap ceilings, a very functional layout, a shaded side deck and front porch. We could keep an eye on the kids while cooking dinner or find a private space to sneak off and read a book. The location of the house can't be beat. Ten Bay is a very short walk down the street. It is an amazing beach, especially for kids. It's long, shallow and placid, with lots of shady trees. We spent long days here with our very young kids and while we watched them closely and held them or stayed at only arm's length, we were able to feel very relaxed. This wasn't true of other beaches on the island which, while beautiful, were just too rough for little kids (and their anxious Mom ;) The sunsets at Ten Bay are stunning. Night after night, the sky lit up in soft, gorgeous colours... just amazing. Cooking our own meals and packing snacks for the day couldn't have been easier - the kitchen is very well appointed and there were thoughtful touches everywhere, including lots of tupperware and a large cooler. Traveling with kids, we were so grateful for things like the beach toys, floaties, blackout curtains, nightlights, temperature control in each bedroom, plastic dishes and cutlery, a big area rug in the living room for floor play... the list goes on. At nighttime, Netflix was accessible at the push of a button and we were also able to easily chromecast shows from our phones at night. Finally, Muriel went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable. When we told her that our party included a Vegetarian and a Vegan, and asked her for restaurant or shopping recommendations, she updated her island guide to include extensive tips for these kinds of diets, including where to eat/shop, the restaurants/stores operating hours, contact information, itemizing the veg menu offerings and even their prices! Can't say how helpful this is when you are busy with kids and just want a sure bet when heading out for something to eat. Our favourite little food shop was Island Farms, just a few minutes from the house. Lots of fresh, tasty options here, including the best hummus and fresh salsa. We made the most wonderful family memories here and can't wait to return. I highly recommend Muriel's beautiful home.
