Lovely Family Vacation @ Moonflower!

Our stay at Moonflower was lovely, allowing our family to reconnect in Eleuthera and remember what we love about the Bahamas. The spacious house was perfect for our group, and the beach couldn't have been more gorgeous or peaceful. Lady Di was wonderful (she even brought us some Bahama bread!) as were your neighbors who we met one evening in the water. We ate most evenings after long days of exploring at the newly opened Glass Window bar and restaurant (delicious, by the way, with a stunning view) and ended our at Ocean Tally for a lovely lunch.

Great time @ Moonflower

Geeta,

The trip was awesome, probably my best time on Eleuthera since my first trip in 1992. The best part for me was watching the reactions of the other family as they experienced Moonflower, the beach at Gaulding Cay, Surfers Beach, the caves at Hatchet Bay, etc, etc for the first time. They loved it all.

Geeta, you did a great job on Moonflower and your attention to detail really shows. The house was perfect for our large group and no one complained about a thing. My only suggestion - a larger coffee maker :). Lady Di was wonderful as were your neighbors Dave & Gerry. On their tip we ended up at Ocean Tally for a great dinner.

I had one of the best Father's Days ever as 1. I woke up on Lutra and got a morning swim, 2. Spent most of the day at Surfer's Beach just as a new swell hit - caught a handful of waves; 3. When we got back to the house about half of the residents of Gregory Town were having a cookout on the beach so we got to meet a whole bunch of new people who promptly invited us to join them for cocktails and dinner. They fed all 10 of us delicious baked chicken, ribs, barracuda (caught fresh off the point that afternoon) peas-n-rice, etc. Was also introduced to "Gully Wash" by the bartender Jamal who gave me some tips on the recipe.

One new friend we made was Gerald "Cheetah" Cartwright who runs EIO farm outside of Gregory Town. He invited us to stop in for a tour which we did a few days later. Well worth it as Cheetah showed us all around the 20+ acres he has out by the silo's. I recommend you add something to your listing about the locally grown organic produce they are growing which is available in the co-op store in Gregory Town.

I cant wait to get back and am already eyeing up some dates on the calendar.

Thanks again for all of your help.

Great family vacation

We traveled here for a vacation with our daughter, her husband and 5 children & had a wonderful time at Moonflower. From Nassau it's a 20 minute plane ride to N Eleuthera, then a 15-minute drive to the house. My wife and I and our daughter and husband occupied the 2 master bedrooms that had their own baths and the older kids (age 10 to 18) shared the 3rd bath. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The owner was gracious and switched out the king size in the older boys room for two twin beds. The kitchen had everything we needed, lots of dishes, pots & pans, a huge refrigerator & freezer, full size range, garbage disposal & dishwasher for easy cleanup. The house is beautifully decorated in what I'd call a Caribbean island style. The living room area has large comfortable sofas where we gathered to talk, relax and play games. There's also a laundry room with a washer and dryer. There's WiFi throughout the house so we could check our email or research a place we might want to go without having to pay for expensive cellular data. There's also a cell phone at the house that can be used for local calls; you can add a few dollars to it at the nearby J C Discount store. The caretaker, Lady Di, was at the house when we arrived to show us around and answer questions. She left us some fresh fruit and treats. The location on the beach was perfect. You can see the beach from the house and enjoy the beautiful sunsets every night. The water is clear and so shallow that's it's safe for kids. There were a few small waves after a storm that the kids enjoyed tremendously. We used the kayaks at the house to paddle out to Gauldings Cay. Even though the beach has public access, we almost always had it to ourselves. The area is very safe. Almost no one locks their doors on the island. You could spend all your time at the house and beach but other beaches are nearby and easily accessible. I'd recommend some day trips to other islands. We caught the ferry to Harbour Island one day, rented a golf cart and drove around the island and had lunch. The kids (and me) really enjoyed the speedboat ride to the island ($5 each way per person). My favorite day trip was to Spanish Wells because it's so different from the other islands. We had the best lunch there at the Shipyard and bought stone crabs to have at the house, they were the best! Moonflower has everything you need in a vacation home and N Eleuthera is a perfect beach vacation spot.

Amazing location, perfect for adults and the best beach on the island for kids

My wife and I have been to the island 5 other times staying at various locations in Governor's Harbor, Harbour Island and Gregory Town. Moonflower was terrific, we went with our three kids ages 1-5 and my wife's best friend and her husband and 8 month old. The location was our favorite, steps to the beach, 3 minute walk to the end of the driveway for gumbay smash drinks and yummy food at Daddy Joe's which is basically part of the house based on how close it is and they treat you like family. We worked with the homeowner ahead of time and she assisted so when we arrived the house was stocked with food, drinks and cocktails we requested.

Their are a few houses along the beach but it was super quite, the neighbor next to Moonflower was great, every day he and his wife would come down at sunset for a swim and we would share a few drinks watching the best sunsets we have ever experienced.

The house was much larger then what the pictures appear, the TV/Great room is huge with views to the water and ever room and bathroom was the perfect size and had all of the necessities to allow us to enjoy our vacation. They even had two kayaks, surfboard and other fun beach/water toys setup when we arrived. All of our kids loved it, the water is astonishing as it's knee deep 100 yards from the beach which makes it very safe for kids to play in all day. We said multiple times, we basically had a 1/2 oversized pool to play in every day.

I would highly recommend Moonflower to anyone looking for a getaway and to enjoy the island life. The house if plenty large for 2-3 families, couples etc.

The location is the best

- 20 minute drive to ELH airport (we did a day trip to Harbour Island)

- 3 minute walk to a bar/rest. Daddy Joes'

-10 min drive to Ocean Tally - this was the best hidden gem we found, a new small hotel that has an amazing small rest. and incredible views of the Atlantic Ocean

-5 minute drive to Gregory Town (we purchased a 15lb grouper right off the boat ramp)

3- min drive to Laughing Lizard, great lunch spot

-5 minute walk to the Queen's Bath and a short ride to

-15 min drive to Rainbow Beach and Rainbow Inn for dinner

We plan to visit again.

Fabulous!

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Moonflower on the island of Eleuthera, Bahamas! We woke up every morning and walked the beach with our coffee in hand. Moonflower is the perfect home for family vacations or friends. There were 4 couples in our group, the house was PERFECT! We couldn't have asked for better accomodations. Everyone we ran in to was extremely frendly and we felt very safe the entire time. There is a restaurant at the end of the driveway that we walked to and practically had it to ourselves. I would highly recommend visiting the island of Eleuthera and recommend staying at Moonflower!!! The process from the beginning to the end was easy and everyone I worked with was very helpful and friendly! You can't go wrong!!!
