Perfectly secluded and pristine waterfront
The Host, Dawn, and her sister, Sherry, are incredibly sweet and helpful. Perfectly secluded and pristine waterfront--ideal honeymoon location. RENT THE CAR. You will need it. We were not old enough to be insured, but there is practically no traffic and driving is very safe. The car is old, but it will serve its purpose. The kitchen is fairly bare, but you can make do. Definitely go grocery shopping at "the big shop" in The Bluff, rather than the little shop in Lower Bogue. Bring bug repellant. The mosquitoes and the sandflies are vicious. There is snorkel gear at the villa. Make the most of it. We woke up one morning without power and just had to wait for it to come back on since there is no generator at the villa, but thankfully it came back on quickly and we had AC again. The Bahamas are a third world country and I don't think we were very aware of that until we got there. Now you know. Go down to Hatchet Bay (45ish min South) and eat at The Front Porch. It's pricey, but delicious--definitely the best meal we ate on the island. My new wife and I are very excited to go back in the future for an anniversary. You will fall in love with the place a little bit.
