Tricky to find

Spent 9 nights here. Had a hard time finding it. Were getting frantic. Make sure there are very specific directions or you will get lost. We did manage after several attempts to find it. Obviously the view is the allure. The cottage itself is basic. The bedroom is not Waterview. There is no dining Waterview tables. There is only the kitchen counter with stools. This was disappointing, a dinette set can easily be added. There were general issues, I.e., missing light bulbs, a very smelly rug , some cooking pots were literally falling apart. The cottage needs a bit of some TLC. The good stuff- it is in a good central location- make sure to explore the island. The sunsets are awesome, will miss them immensely. What a privilege to see the Hawksbill turtles. Hope they are being fully protected. Nature, wildlife is essential for our travels. We seek this out- one reason we chose this island. Although the snorkeling just off the dock is very minimal, there is the resident red banded shrimp, a juvenile scorpion fish, snorkeled right over a buried ray (be careful). We brought our gear and snorkeled on other parts of the island. Overall we enjoyed the stay here, it was in our budget range and overall filled most of what we were looking for. It is unique that on one side is a carribean cove with the Atlantic just across the road.

great place.

Road was not as bad as people had mentioned in comments. (but it was dry - not sure about rainy season). very private. We had a great time. Thanks!

The place is awesome!

Definitely get the SUV. The last section of dirt road to the house requires an SUV. The waters were outstanding. Went for a swim the first afternoon and saw sea turtles swimming with us. One consideration if you have not gone before. Bring a cooler of food. The grocery store is not close. It’s expensive and not much to choose from. That said. I would go again tomorrow!!

Whale's Point is our favorite spot on the Island.

The Palm Tree Cottage location can't be beat. We did have an issue with the power to the house but Dewitt was very responsive and quick to have someone there to get us back up and running. The memories we made sitting on the dock will last a lifetime, thanks Dewitt!

Dewitt is an outstanding host!

He is very quick to respond to any questions or issues you may have on or before your trip. The road to reach the property is an off road 7 minute or so adventure...but well worth it. I recommend renting Dewitt’s vehicle to ensure you have access to the property. The sea life off the dock is beautiful and amazing. We hung or ENO from the dock and watched beautiful sunsets! If you splashed your feet in the water, the sea turtles would swim right up and spend the afternoon swimming with you! Sharks would come out after sunset and sea stars were plentiful. Restaurants are a bit far from your place and there was a holiday when we arrived and no one seemed to be serving (Website hidden by Airbnb) be prepared with munchies. We enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere of Eleuthera and it’s beautiful beaches.
