Wonderful stay at Paradise Pointe
This was our first time visiting Eleuthera and we had a wonderful stay at Paradise Pointe! We agree with all the other positive reviews and found the house and premises exactly as described and pictured. The house was very clean and neat with beautiful shining tile floors throughout. The internet was reliable the whole time we were there. The phone was handy for local calls to restaurants, etc. The beds were comfortable and clean. The kitchen was well appointed. The A.C. and ceiling fans were very effective at cooling when needed. The outdoor shower was an added bonus for rinsing ourselves and our gear after beach excursions. In addition, Deborah was very responsive and helpful when we had questions.
Our local contact Terese was very helpful and responsive (via WhatsApp). We also met the caretaker, Romell, who came to fix the railing on the steps leading down to the sea. He was very friendly, as were the other Eleutherans we met on the island!
The house is about 10 minutes north of Governor's Harbour, which is centrally located on the island and has multiple grocery stores, two banks, and several good restaurants. We enjoyed visiting the Haynes Library too.
There are at least two nice restaurants even closer to the house, and there are a number of beautiful beaches within a short drive. As others have mentioned, you may need a Jeep-like vehicle with good ground clearance to navigate some of the beach roads, but there are some nice beaches just off the main highway. As described in the listing, there is very good snorkeling just steps down from the house. (You need to be somewhat agile to walk/climb down to the water. The last bit is a ladder down into the sea.)
The large deck facing the Bight of Eleuthera was great. We enjoyed breakfast out there every morning and saw beautiful sunsets over the water every evening. Late into the evenings we would still sit out there watching the moon and stars and listening to the wavelets lapping along the shore.
One of the things that made Paradise Pointe so special to us was that it was wonderfully quiet, something of a rarity in today's world. It has a nice long driveway from the main highway which means it is blissfully private and tranquil. There are a few other houses visible... close enough so you don't feel like you are too far from civilization, but not close enough to compromise privacy or quiet.
