Total relaxation - just the ticket

We wanted to totally chill out for 3 weeks, and that is what we did. We are both avid readers and there were so many different places (and chairs) to try out!

The pool is really nice - we swam everyday. And the onsite gardener kept it crystal clear for us. He also brought us fresh coconuts. The property manager, Sherman, checked in regularly to make all was OK and brought us the best avocadoes. from his garden.

Bed was extremely comfortable. And as others have said the kitchen is great - fully equiped. We ate in it most of the time, just going out for lunch a few times (Da Perk, Tippys, 1648 and La Bougainvillea). We liked the food at La Bougainvillea best.

We regularly got bread, pasties and scones from the Governors Harbor bakery, and salad ingredients and stone crab claws from Island Farm. They also have crusty bread, which is different from the sweeter GH bread.

Our best find was that Horatio, owner of Da Perk, cooks fantastic meals to go. We had his whole baked chicken with vegetables, Meatloaf, Cottage Pie, Lobster Thermidor (wow!), and seafood pasta. And his bread pudding is the best we've ever tasted - with coconut and chocolate chips. We would call in an order 48 hours in advance and go pick it up. We would order multiple meals and then store them in the house's Sub Zero fridge and freezer.

The bugs were bad all over the island - so do take Deet and anti itch stuff

Everything as advertised and more....

Our stay at Unicorn Cay the last week of July was amazing! Jane and Scott are a pleasure to work with and their property is a gem. This was our family’s first visit to Eleuthera and will not be our last. Eleuthera - and really any out island - is not for everyone, so do your research and set your expectations accordingly. Fortunately, Jane and Scott do an excellent job of making your stay at Unicorn Cay feel like a private resort. Unicorn Cay’s caretaker, Sherman Culmer, was delightful, accessible, and attentive. He even brought us some of his home grown mangos and a few coconuts. And the beach; well, I am reluctant to discuss the beach out of fear that I will be disclosing a secret that I want to protect to ensure it remains as gorgeous and unpopulated as it was on this visit. We’ve been to many of the top beaches in the world and this one may be the best. On this visit, we took a couple days to dive and explore some interesting places on the north and south regions of Eleuthera. However, it would have been easy (and definitely more relaxing) to never have left the property. We would certainly do business with Jane and Scott again and we hope to return to Eleuthera and Unicorn Cay very soon.

Unicorn Cay Paradise

We just returned from an amazing week at Unicorn Cay. After combing 100's of reviews, this was a little out of our comfort zone but we were up for an adventure. This is an amazing property. It is well appointed and had every thing we needed for our two families of 4 adults and 5 teenagers. The home centers around a courtyard pool and patio perfect for hanging out. 3 of the 4 bedrooms are accessible only by this courtyard. It worked for our families but would also be perfect for 4 couples. Our AT&T and Verizon phones worked on Island with international plans but we barely used because the house wifi was great other than after a storm. Jayne the owner went above and beyond. She sent helpful information prior to our arrival, answered all our crazy questions, greeted us upon arrival to show us around the amazing property, and was available for us throughout our stay. The beach on the property was our favorite beach on the island (and they were all beautiful). It was a short golf cart ride or walk from the house. It had flour like sand, blue water and a reef to snorkel right there. We only saw one other family one time the whole week on the beach. It was our own piece of paradise. Tips for your stay. You can travel with anything except alcohol, tobacco, fresh fruits or veges. The family next to us in airport had 16 bags for 9 people with mostly food. We each had a cooler and large suitcase for the week. You will be better off bringing your own snacks and a couple of meals. We ate most breakfast there and packed lunches several days to take with us. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals including many oils and spices and a lovely dining room. These were some of our favorite nights. There is a full size gas grill. Tippys our first night was a fun welcome, close and on the beach. We loved LaBogenvilla (went twice) and 1648 for dinner. Bugs are present esp at night but are no big deal so don't let reviews scare you. I kept spray in my dinner bag and we used at Preacher's Cave but otherwise didn't need. Make sure you visit Blue Hole, Preacher's Cave and Queen's Bath. You will need good soled water/tennis shoes. Captain Kidd and Son Charter with Captain Todd and Casandra were the best. They took us to swim with sea turtles, sting rays, pigs, snorkeling ship wrecks, sand island with sea biscuits, star fish, cliff jumping , tree swinging and more. Highly recommend. They were amazing and their boats were some of the only I saw with shade.

Family Celebrations at Unicorn Cay

Our family just spent a week @ this home and we had an amazing time. Everything that was advertised about this property was true and more! The kids (ages 3-17) had a blast at the beach and the pool. The adults had their private space and we could also all be together and just relax and enjoy each other. We are already thinking of when we can return. Jane and the team that take care of the property are wonderful. Thank you for helping us create memories that will last a lifetime.
