We loved our stay at Unicorn Cay
Over all we loved our stay at Unicorn Cay. The house was beautiful, very spacious and had a lot of character. The pool in the center of the courtyard made it easy to watch our children are playing. The beach that it adjoins this property was beautiful and was almost completely deserted. We did see several people each day on the beach as we walked, but overall, we pretty much had the beach to our self. The water was very clear and there will is good snorkeling straight off the beach.
There're several restaurants within a mile and half of the house we really enjoyed as well. A couple things to note that we were not quite aware of, or did not understand from the listing that I think are important to consider are that this beautiful house has four suits. They are all spacious with a full bathroom in each room. However only one master suite adjoins the office, large living room, dining room and kitchen. The other three suites require you to walk outside to get into the main part of the house. If it's all adults staying here that is probably ideal. However Families with children need to know that if their children are going to sleep in one of the other suites they will have to walk outside to get into the house if they are not in the master suite.
Cautious as we are, possibly overcautious, because as we stayed on the island for the week we realize how safe the island was, our children actually ended up sleeping in the office because they and we felt a little bit uneasy about having them outside completely away from us.
Also be aware that there are bugs and mosquitoes because it is the tropics but if you're in the water they tend to leave you alone for the most part.
Also in order to get to the beach the owners of the house have provided two golf carts and you have to drive about one or two minutes to the beach. In doing so you have to cross a road. You can see the ocean from the front of the house off in the distance.
Overall we absolutely loved are stay! We love the chilled vibe! We had put off going to the Bahamas for a long time because we felt that it was not as desirable as other countries, but we loved our time there and we'll definitely return.
Jane was absolutely awesome! Our flight got canceled due to some airplane issues and she very generously allowed us to return to the house without any problem. Sherman was also very pleasant and we enjoyed our interactions with him.
