Perfect Get-Away

My husband and I were thrilled to find Round House for a much-needed getaway. Being in healthcare and having to deal with COVID the past year, we desperately wanted a retreat from human interaction. Round House fit the bill. Getting to the property is an experience itself. The sandy road, lined on both sides by dense vegetation, ensures that nobody drives down the road unless they have a reason to do so. This certainly plays a role in why the stunningly beautiful beaches are for all intents and purposes, completely deserted. We encountered perhaps only six people the entire time on our multiple miles-long beach walks over the course of a week. The exquisite beauty of the beaches and the water is simply too hard to accurately convey. Round House, itself, is sited on a beautiful property that spans from the Atlantic to the Caribbean. To say the house is quaint, is an understatement. It is obviously a labor of love by the incredible woman who built it herself. It is unique. It is inviting. It is comfortable. It is tasteful. It truly feels like a home rather than an income property. The front of the house has beautiful views of palm trees and other tropical plants as well as the ocean. The outdoor shower in the back of the house has amazing views of dense tropical vegetation. While the proximity to the owner's new home is fairly close, perhaps 50 feet away, the landscaping and design of the new home offer considerable privacy. And while the sand road does bisect the path to the beach, only a handful of cars a day cross in front of Round House.. There is a dedicated beach cabana with palm-frond roof covering two chaise lounge chairs for guests of Round House. We spent much of our time relaxing there getting caught up on our reading. There was always a nice breeze to keep us comfortable, and the ocean was just a few steps away if we needed to get wet. All-in-all, this was the perfect vacation for us. We've stayed in some of the best hotels in the world and not enjoyed our vacation as much the time we spent at Round House. It is something special. Our sincere appreciation to Doon for sharing her property with the world.

Paradise Delivered

My husband and I love to travel - and never to the same place twice. The Round House at Casuarina Bay changed all that. We just returned from our 3rd visit in 4 years and hope to be retuning annually for many many years to come. We found it. Our total paradise. We know we will not find this experience for this price anywhere but here.

Casuarina Bay is magical. This is the place we go to "get off the grid", slow down, breathe, connect with nature's finest, reconnect with each ourselves and each other. The property is located down a private road on the most stunning beach (think Turks & Caicos but better bc you have the jungle background). You will most likely not see another soul (so no need for bathing suits). Choose to spend your days enjoying local beer (stock up when in "town"), frolicking and reading - or head out to explore and experience water adventures such as diving into a blue hole.

Doon, who is quite humble, is like a legend on the Island. A remarkable woman with a remarkable story and a fantastic host & guide. We are beyond grateful that she shares her slice of heaven with us visitors. If you want to experience the gem that Eleuthera is, renting @Casuarina Bay is a must.

Heaven!

Round House is pure heaven! The only thing better than the views and beach access is the constant calming sound of the waves and swaying of lush palm trees. The location is absolute bliss and the house is super cool, romantic but quirky and unique. We will definitely be back!

Honeymoon adventure

This place is just perfect! It’s very out of the ordinary which is exactly what we were looking for on our honeymoon. It was perfectly cleaned and had all the basics. Taja and her mother Doon were great hosts and always communicated well even when I was too busy to check my messages. The house is located up a small hill just off a beautiful beach and my now wife and I walked almost every morning and evening on it. We never came across anyone else on it so it really felt as if we had our own private beach to ourselves. In general our entire wedding and honeymoon went well. We enjoyed our stay and it was definitely an adventure. As other reviews have stated, this is not a luxury resort island. When you come, come prepared for an adventure. Don’t expect too much when you leave the sanctuary of your accommodations. This is an island where you will visit to enjoy nature as it truly is without the touristy feel of the larger islands.

Amazing!

What can I say, this was the most amazing trip!! We loved the round house - it's so unique and really made us feel like we were part of the island! The island breeze is incredible and we basically just left the doors and windows open the entire time. No need for A/C!! Doon was an amazing host (and just in general an amazing human, lol) and she gave us great advice on things to do, places to eat, etc. The beach was amazingly private. In fact, we didn't really see anyone there the entire week of our stay so you really felt like you had your own private tropical paradise. As other reviewers have mentioned, this is not a luxury resort, so if that is the vacation you are seeking I would recommend checking out one of the resorts on the island. But, if you want a quiet, private space to relax and unwind without all the noise of a hotel / resort, this place cannot be beat ;) We loved our time there and are definitely planning a trip back!
