2 Weeks of Heaven!!

We arrived on a breezy saturday in Dec, 2011. When we first pulled up to the house our jaws dropped, the beauty and seclusion of the house is amazing. The grounds around were groomed well and completely tropical. Right away we felt at home and made quick use of the multitude of huts and hammoks and the amazing beach. All of the ammenities included with the house made us feel at home. Watching the sun rise every morning having a coffee on the front deck has to be experienced. We stayed for 2 weeks and never felt cramped, or uncomfortable. There is so much to see and do on the island, the Fish Fry in Governors is awesome and only 15 minutes away, the local shops are aways inviting, you will have no problem keeping yourself entertained whether you stay a week or 2. Every time we come back to Eleuthera we will saty here!!

WONDERFUL vacation!!

My husband and I just got back last night from a week at Desert Roses and we feel like we had a second honeymoon. It is SOOOO peaceful there, especially with the beautiful Atlantic in our front yard. The romantic sunsets and sunrises every morning can't be matched!

Eleuthera is the perfect place to unplug from the world and find true peacefulness. The island is pretty much crime-free and that makes a mind rest easy. The house is has high ceilings and give the feeling of spaciousness and there are multlple seating areas outside, as well.

The owners are very good at communicating and the caretaker is extremely helpful (and great at opening up coconuts from the tree..thank you!

The island has just enough fun things to do and explore that it would take about 10 days to check out. Sunshine, beach, fresh coconuts, pineapples, and quiet...now that's what we call a true vacation...Highly recommend!!

Best beach on the island!

Wonderful views, perfect breezes, never saw another person on the beach the entire week! House was adequate and came with all the amenities needed for a restful vacation away from it all. Not the Ritz, but wasn't expecting it. House needs a little TLC to make it perfect, but overall a wonderful week on undoubtedly the best beach on the island. Definitely need to go to the Banks Deli for fresh baguettes, and the Beach House rest. For dinner. Recommend Rainbow Bay for snorkeling if the water in front of the Desert Rose is a little choppy with the Atlantic breezes. Otherwise, snorkeling right out front is perfect! All in all, a week to remember for a long time to come!

Wonderful!

Yes, it really is a beautiful as the pictures. Desert Rose has an great vantage point to see the water any time of the day or night and the breeze drifts perfectly through the house (but the is a/c is available should you need it). What you don't see is how well stocked the house is. Kitchen has every type of utensil, plate, glassware and the cooker is excellent. There's also a B-B-Q and multiple outside locations to dine. There is a huge selection of DVD's for adults and kids. Ample towels and bedding and a washer/dryer. Use of a cell phone (just add phone card) and jeep.

The property is spotlessly clean, well maintained interior and beautiful landscaped garden with hummingbirds, butterflies and flowers.

The customer service was excellent, Barbara thank you for your prompt attention to our questions. Del - the local caretaker, greeted us and checked in on us a couple of times during our stay.

Our only lack of commentary is we were so happy at Desert Rose that we didn't really venture out for dinner (but that's to be expected with 2.5 year old)!

Barbara, we can't wait to return.

Desert Rose

What an idyllic location this is! Paradise on earth! The property was exactly as represented and extremely comfortable although our son preferred to sleep on the lounge rather than on the sofa bed in the second bedroom as it was a bit hard.

Life was very leisurely and the occasional dinner out very much a highlight. We particularly liked The Beach House and the Cocodimama.

A visit to Elouthera can be improved by a better and more reliable flight schedule. Our luggage did not arrive for 26 hours and several people were grounded for that amount of time the day beefore we left due to a fault in the engine.

Fortunately we arrived and departed on time and the taxi met us as planned. The driver and the agent were very friendly and helpful. Altogether an excellent holiday!
