Aaaaahhhhhhh!

We spent 10 days in the apartment portion of Heron Hill. We had everything we needed for a wonderful vacation. The beauty of renting the apartment portion (max 2 people) is you are the only one staying at the house. The pool and the grounds are all yours! North Palmetto is centrally located so you can easily make day trips to both sides of the island. Heron Hill is so private. It is enjoyable to enjoy the beauty of its grounds and the ocean without interference from others. I couldn't have chosen a better spot for our beach vacation.

Well equipped, well maintained, private setting

Heron Hill is a very comfortable, very well equipped and very well maintained older home on a incredibly beautiful five acre estate. We stayed for ten days at the beginning of September, and did not see a single person on the beach the entire time until our last day. The home is large, but it has a very cozy feeling. There is an enormous selection of books to read, plus satellite TV, XM radio, Blueray DVD with a surround sound system. The kitchen has just about every appliance and utensil that you could imagine, plus a large assortment of spices, There was a power failure the first night during our stay, and we were without light and air conditioning for a full 10 seconds until the automatic generator started!

While the setting is very private, the location is convenient to restaurants and shopping: Governor's Harbour is 10 minutes away; the Tarpum Bay dock, where you can purchase fresh fish is 20 minutes; and the best supermarket on the island in Rock Sound is about a 35 minute drive. The caretakers, Andrew and Reta, are really nice people and keep the property in excellent condition.

Beutiful and Relaxing

We had a good time. There was ample space for our party of 7, including two children. The setting is beautiful and the gardens are extensive; we spent most of our time enjoying the pool and the beach.Caretakers were responsive. People on the island are charming and helpful, their friendliness made us feel comfortable and welcome.

A special piece of Heaven on Earth!

This was our second year staying at the spectacular Heron Hill! My husband and I spent our honeymoon last year at Heron Hill and we returned this year. The house is very spacious with every amenity that you can possibly need. You have the best of both worlds with the Ocean only steps away as well as a beautiful pool! The grounds of the house are filled with beautiful flowers and palm trees. The home owners, the Murrays, are a pleasure to work with. The caretakers of the house are always available if anything is needed, but also respect your privacy. You are truly made to feel that you are home in your special corner of paradise.

Amazing beyond expectations.

We just returned from our first trip to Eleuthera and can't imagine there could possibly be a better place to stay than Heron Hill. From our very first communication expressing interest, the owners were very responsive and helpful. We stayed in the apartment which was spacious, wonderfully equipped and nicely decorated. Even as a mid-60ish couple, we had no trouble with the steps to our own "private" beach. And what a gorgeous one it is. We never tired of the view of the beach and turquoise water from the top of the stairs and the patio. The pool was so refreshing in the afternoon after a day of beaching. The location of Heron Hill is easy to get to and perfectly located for everything you could want--stores, restaurants, gas stations and most of all--beaches. The caretaker, Andrew, was just the sweetest man and so helpful. The property is just one big, beautiful garden--just breathtaking--offering so much serenity and privacy. As I am writing this, I'm missing it more and more and can't wait to return.
